Enrei Ojo Prefectural Park

This park is a repository of natural plants, mainly covered with Japanese larch and Japanese red pine trees.  It abuts on Yatsugatake CITIC Plateau National Park.  A mountain range, which starts from KattsuruToge in the south and leads to Tatsuno, forms the boundary. 

Hang Down Chestnut Forest Park

This park is a forest park, situated about 3 kilometers east of Ono station.  The natural habitat for Hang Down Chestnut, which is a national natural treasure, is overwhelming, making the visitors feel the mysterious charm of the natural wonder.  You can have fun on a nature campsite or a miniature golf course in all seasons. 

Campsites

In the camping season, plenty people both from inside and outside of Nagano visit this forest park, which is situated in the area where Hang Down Chestnut, a national natural treasure, naturally grows.  Outdoor activities in a rich natural environment make the visitors forget the daily work.  (There are nature campsites, caravan sites, and cottages.)

Miniature Golf Course

There is a miniature golf course with real beautiful grasses.  All the visitors must be satisfied with this 18 hole mini putt course, which covers an area of 8,000 square meters.

Iroshiromizu (Fair Skin Water)

Iroshiromizu is a water stream situated on the way to Hang Down Chestnut Forest Park.  The stream used to flow by the wayside of Nakasendo.  It is traditionally said that you can have fair skin if you wash your face with this water.  The water of the stream is almost neutral and crystal clear. 

The Natural Habitat for Hang Down Chestnut in Ono (A National Nature Treasure)

According to legend, a Tengu (a mountain spirit with a long nose and wings) made chestnut branches hang down so that the local children can pick the nuts.  There are about 800 Hang Down Chestnut trees of various sizes in this area.  The trees look different from season to season.  A view of plenty branches swinging down like an umbrella is said to be an unrivaled novelty.
