Every year from mid-February to mid-March, golden Adonis blossoms, Fukujuso, bloom on a bank facing the south, pushing up the snow. This is a sign of early spring at the mountain village in Shinshu. The visitors can enjoy walking in the local forest and feel a breath of spring in the air. Fukujuso is the town flower of Tatsuno, and the local people are trying to promote regional development by using Fukujuso.
There are also plenty things to see in this area, such as Dosojin (a travelers' guardian deity) bearing the oldest inscription in Japan, Mishaguji (a deity of ancient religions) indicating the ancient religions, and the local forest which provides a distant view of Central Alps.
